OMRON WheezeScan uses innovative listening technology to quickly and accurately determine whether or not "wheezing" is present. WheezeScan is a useful tool to help parents manage their children's asthmatic symptoms at home. Bronchitis, bronchiolitis or bronchial asthma may be the cause of these symptoms. How does WheezeScan work? WheezeScan works much like the stethoscope the doctor uses to listen to the lungs. By placing the sensor on the patient's chest for 30 seconds, when breathing normally, the device can detect and analyze the sounds of breathing to find out if wheezing is present. This device can be paired with your smart device and you can manage the results with your smart device through the "OMRON Asthma Diary" app. The OMRON WheezeScan is designed to detect wheezing in infants, toddlers and children from 4 months to 7 years old. The WheezeScan displays "Squeaky Breathing" or "No Squeaky Breathing" as the result of the measurement. The results should be discussed with your physician.
