How do I clean the Revo-loo Open? Use the Empty function to empty the drum into the waste drawer and discard the bag. Then disassemble the drum, the grit grid, the waste drawer, and the bottom mat. These parts are waterproof and can be cleaned with soapy water, in the shower, with a garden hose, or with a pressure washer. Wipe down the main unit with a damp cloth. Schedule this every 2 to 3 months; it takes about 15 minutes.
How long can I go without emptying the waste tray? The waste tray has a capacity of 11 liters, which is enough for about 10 days with one cat. If you have multiple cats, you’ll need to replace the bag more often.
Which cat litter works best in the Open? Clumping litter works best: bentonite, tofu, or mineral grit. Silica grit and wood pellets are not suitable.
What kind of trash bags do I need? No special ones. A regular trash bag or a sturdy shopping bag will work. Genuine Revo-loo bags can be ordered separately.
Can I clean the drum with a high-pressure washer? Yes. The drum, the grit grid, the waste tray, and the floor mat contain no electronics and are waterproof.
Does the Open work on any Wi-Fi network? Only on 2.4 GHz Wi-Fi, not on 5 GHz. The Wi-Fi name and password must match exactly; even one character difference will prevent the connection from working.
How long does setup take? With the Quick Start Guide and the user manual, you'll be all set in about ten minutes.
