Adjustable Mountain Bike Helmet The Dunlop bicycle helmet is adjustable to a diameter of 55 to 58 centimeters. For the best protection, the mountain bike helmet must fit snugly around the head and be worn upright. The front edge of the helmet should sit 1 to 2 finger widths above the bridge of the nose. You adjust the bike helmet by using the dial to loosen or tighten the internal ring inside the helmet. To test whether the bike helmet is securely fastened, you can gently shake your head with the chin straps unfastened. If the helmet moves, you’ll need to adjust the adjustable ring slightly. Once the bike helmet fits securely around your head, fasten the chin straps. These should also be securely fastened. When the buckles are closed and you open your mouth, the strap should press against your chin. It should not be possible to remove the bike helmet without unfastening the chin straps.
